Consolidated Pastoral Company (CPC) is a major player in the Australian beef sector, known for its vertically integrated operations to Asia and focus on innovation. Alongside domestic supply, CPC exports beef and operates feedlots in Indonesia.

The company runs nine stations across Queensland, the NT and WA, managing more than 300,000 head of cattle, 50,000 goats, 20,000 hectares of cropping, as well as several natural capital projects. Sustainability underpins CPC’s operations, with core values aimed at long-term viability.

Innovation and alignment for a sustainable future

CPC pursues best practice through emissions avoidance projects that boost productivity. by engaging with the Emissions Reduction Fund, CPC implements initiatives to:

  • reduce herd emissions intensity
  • reduce greenhouse gas releases from late-season wildfires
  • sequester carbon in woody vegetation.

They also invest in R&D and technology trials to improve productivity and strengthen supply chain sustainability.

People are the foundation

CPC invests in workforce development, providing training and career pathways to build industry leadership. For CPC, sustainability means balancing financial viability with the wellbeing of people, animals and the environment.

Aligning priorities

Using the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework (ABSF) for transparent reporting and benchmarking, CPC tracks performance, identifies improvement areas and aligns with broader industry priorities.

Looking ahead, CPC can see potential in producer-led innovation, including government-supported programs such as carbon and biodiversity initiatives, to generate supplementary income through data-driven, environmentally responsible practices.
