Annual Update to be unveiled at Beef 2024

January 23 2024

The 2024 Annual Update will again launch at Beef Australia

The annual sustainability update for the Australian beef industry will be launched at a special event at the southern hemisphere’s largest beef industry trade show - Beef 2024 - to be staged in Rockhampton in May.

Tickets for the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework (ABSF) 2024 Annual Update seminar on Tuesday, 7 May, are now on sale here.

Nutrient-dense Australian beef is an important part of a healthy diet, a great source of protein, iron, zinc, and other essential nutrients for growth and life in general. It is also an industry that supports tens of thousands of jobs, brings valuable export dollars into the country, and enriches our way of life.

The ABSF has been measuring and tracking key indicators of sustainability since 2017 to share good news and highlight areas for improvement, as the world increasingly turns its focus to the sustainability of key industries.

For the first time, the 2024 event will provide evidence of industry’s progress towards the five beef sustainability goals announced in 2023. It will also be an opportunity to hear from the Sustainability Steering Group, followed by discussions with supply chain partners on the impact of international reporting frameworks on their business, and how the industry is working to align these frameworks to our Australian production context.

The ABSF will also have a stall for the entire week of Beef 2024 in the Walter Pierce Pavilion and encourages producers, stakeholders and anyone with an interest in sustainability to stop by and learn more about the ABSF and how it is helping ensure the ongoing success of the Australian beef industry.
