Annual Sustainability Reports
The Framework's annual sustainability reports capture the performance of the Framework and industry in the past year. In 2017, the industry launched the Framework with the publication of an initial report. The first Annual Update was published in 2018, reporting against the Framework’s 23 priorities and filling data gaps. This work continued, with the publication of the 2019 Annual Update.
In 2020, the third Annual Update on sustainable beef production was released.
The 2020 Annual Update:
Shows the progress industry has made since baseline data was collected for many indicators in 2018;
Outlines activity underway and planned for six key priorities selected by stakeholders and industry;
Provides industry’s position for each of the six key priorities;
Where data permits, reports on industry performance across 23 priorities; and
Provides case studies of sustainable practice through the value chain.
To support this year’s Annual Update a further Insights for Innovation report will be developed targeted at industry R&DE providers, researchers and knowledge brokers. This report will help provide information for decision makers at R&D institutions.
Now that Framework’s data foundation has been established, the SSG hopes to show trends over time. The SSG will keep reporting annual progress against the indicators.
Progress at June 2020
The 2020 Annual Update was released on 25 June 2020. Work will shortly commence on the 2021 Annual Update.
